-Unknown
Keeping coral in our conscience.
“Coral reefs represent some of the world’s most spectacular beauty spots, but they are also the foundation of marine life: Without them, many of the sea’s most exquisite species will not survive.”
-Sheherazade Goldsmith“I can mention many moments that were unforgettable and revelatory. But the most single reverberating three minutes was the first time I put on scuba gear and dived on a coral reef. It’s just the unbelievable fact that you can move in three dimensions.”
-David Attenborough“Getting beyond the idea that the ocean is too vast to impact is very challenging. With knowing comes caring, and with caring comes the hope that an ocean ethic will arise that secures a sustainable future for ourselves, our children, and for the seas.”

Grand caymanGrand Cayman has been inundated with a disease called Stony Coral Tissue Loss Disease (SCTLD) which is highly fatal to about 30 of our coral species. It is raging through the skeletal coral structures that support other corals. Disinfecting scuba and snorkeling equipment is one way of slowing its progression, and the PhDivaDiver Coral Foundation (501c3) is financially assisting the island's efforts to help.
The non profit is purchasing 15 bins and essential solvents that are fish friendly at each dive operator’s home base. Thank you for your donation to this important cause. Keep up with the Cayman Islands Coral Watch by joining this group on Facebook.
Grand cayman - Coral restoration nurseriesWe work with Cayman Eco Divers Reef Foundation in supporting the coral nurseries and the Coral Reef Renewal program. We invite you to take part in the PADI Coral Renewal Course to learn about our coral nurseries and coral reefs in Cayman next time you visit. Contact us or Aaron at Eco Divers to sign up. Watch Emma-Jane Fisher’s video on the experience.
