Coral Restauration
This acrylic painting with collage, 80x60cm, is one of the paintings in a collection on climate change and its effects by Cecile de Bruijn, a Belgian painter who lives in the south of France. The artist created this painting, as the first in the series, inspired in part by my underwater photography, to help raise awareness of the need for coral restoration. Each collaged piece represents an animal or plant species that is threatened by extinction due to climate change. Reproductions of the painting were created as cards and are sold on Grand Cayman (Kennedy Gallery) to raise money toward coral restoration with our non-profit. This piece, along with the other paintings in the climate change series, have been featured in several galleries in France and can be viewed online at https://www.ceciledebruijn.com. Reproductions of the paintings as card sets have been sold as part of the gallery shows. PhDivaDiver Coral Foundation thanks the artist for her support and help in increasing worldwide awareness of the need for coral restoration.
